「Tokyo christmas market2025 in Jingu-gaien」|Report

The year is coming to an end.
It is the season of Christmas markets and  I visit one every year.
I went to the Jingu-Gaien Christmas market again this yaer .

How to Enter

You can buy tickets in advance via KKday or at FamilyMart.
Tickets cost ¥1.000 per parson on weekday and ¥1,500 on weekends and holidays, and both include a souvenir mag.
They also sell  same-day tickets, but those do not  come with the mag.

I recommend purchasing your tickets in advance, because the mag design changes every year.

On the Day

Walking from Gaienmae Station, you pass through the ginkgo tree-lined street.
In autumn, it becomes a tunnel of yellow leaves, but most of them had already fallen by December.
Continue toward the Jingu Stadium area, and you will see the sign.

Entrance sign

At the entrance, I showed my QR code and received a mug.
I was also given a paper bag to take it home.
This was this year’s mug design.

Just after entering, there is a large logo sign, and many people were taking photos there.

Goods Shops

Using the map given at the entrance, we looked for the shops we wanted to visit.
The goods and gift shops are located in the center, with food stalls surrounding them.
We headed to a candle shop first.

Candle shop

I bought a candle with a Christmas Market–exclusive scent.
There are also many other shops selling items such as hand cream, ornaments, and Christmas trees.

Food and Drink

After shopping, we went to buy some beer and food.
As you would expect at a Christmas market, German beer and food are the main offerings.
We bought beer at several stalls; some serve drinks in cute plastic cups, while others use a glass deposit system.
For Carlsberg, the deposit is ¥1,000, which is refunded when you return the glass.

There are many tables and chairs throughout the venue, so even when it is crowded, you can usually find a seat without waiting too long.
You can enjoy buying a little, eating, then moving on to another stall and eating again.

About Restrooms

At events like this, restrooms can be a concern.
There are portable toilets on the opposite side of the main entrance, and there are many of them, so even if there is a line, it moves quickly.
There is another restroom area near the stadium, but it has fewer stalls, and I had to wait a little.

Summary & Review

I have been visiting this Christmas market for three years in a row.
I usually go in the afternoon, but this year I visited in the evening for the first time.
Because of that, it was more crowded than usual, and the popular pot pie shop had a very long line, so I gave up on buying it.
However, the illuminations were more romantic at night. Although it was cold, I really enjoyed the experience.
